Six Sentence Sunday – Red and the Wolf, Pt. 4

Posted in Six Sentence Sunday with tags on April 29, 2012 by Nellie

It is another Sunday and I didn’t get anything done that I was planning this weekend. I thought I would have a good chunk of Saturday to catch up on things and spent it working longer than I wanted and then there was the groceries. *sigh* Hopefully Sunday will be a little better. Maybe.

For this week’s six, we’ll look at a snippet of conversation between Rebecca and the Wolf. I had thought to go to Granny but I needed to work more on those scenes first.

It circled around her, tail brushing against her cloak and legs. “Not you.”

Rebecca stood there for a moment, wondering if she was imagining things. “Excuse me?”

“Not looking for you. You have plenty of time.”

What do your six say?

Six Sentence Sunday – Red and the Wolf, pt 3

I really need to do regular posting again. Ugh. I’ve gotten out of the habit. But anyway!

It’s time for another round of Six Sentence Sunday.

This is where Rebecca (Red) meets the wolf. Dun dun duuuuuun.

She stopped before the center when she saw the great beast sitting there, looking off into the woods. Her eyes widened while her heart sped up. It was a wolf. A very big wolf.

Large yellow eyes gazed at her as it had turned its head, nostrils flaring at her. The wolf was big enough to ride like a donkey.

Stop by and see all the amazing authors. What do your six say?

Six Sunday – Red and the Wolf

This is another bit to a story that I started out writing long hand. I don’t think it will get very long. I’m up to the 1500 word mark and I’ve typed all that I had written. This is a rough draft yet and at the moment my mind is shot so I’m not sure if makes sense at the moment. 🙂 Enjoy.

In which Rebecca meats the Huntsman.

A tall man stepped out, his chin rough with dark stubble shadowing his chin, an axe resting against his shoulder. His clothing was rough and showed some stains, tattered along the edges. He lifted a hand to his hat, tipping it towards here. “Hello there, Young Red. Are you lost?”

“No, no, I’m on my way to Grandmother’s.”

Six Sentence Sunday – Red and the Wolf

This is a new Six that I thought of an idea for after reading a web comic. Right now, I have it all written down on paper to help get my muse back on track.

(I really need to stop starting new stories and finishing the older ones. :/)

“Beware the wolf.”

The words of Rebecca’s mother bounced around in her head. She clutched the basket to her chest as she stared into the darkened forest.

Grandmother had lived in there since she was a small child and hadn’t wanted to leave when her only daughter had married a sailor. She said that living by the sea made her joints hurt. The forest was all she knew.

I actually remembered what day this was. I missed the past couple of Six’s before I have the memory retention of a guppy. I’m taking a break from my living tattoo story (because I’m stuck right now. :/) and changed to something different. Not sure what I’m doing with this one yet.

Six Sentence Sunday

The creature speaking is the serpent who watches the gates between the mortal realm and the fae’ish realm that they come from. I really don’t have a name for it yet. It’s a very smug creature.

A hiss and the scrape of coils against metal as the tale of the snake slipped down the back of the clock. “Hss-hss. You made a very bad mistake and got caught. Tsk, tsk. Not very good for the dragon lord. You might not make it back next time.

This is a continuation of last week. Kinda. Jane has told Sebatin that she doesn’t want him to come with her to the underground where the cannibal mermaids are. He argues that his Queen is sending him to ‘help’, ie find out if the corruption that turned the mermaids is something she can use. Jane says no again. He leaves in a huff. The Winter Queen shows her displeasure of sending her Chancellor back with the refusal.

She snorted and walked towards the steps to the second floor when the crippling cold hit her and drove her to her knees.

She couldn’t help the cry that escaped from her lips as her knees hit the floor first followed by the palms of her hands. It was like someone had taken an ice pick and shoved it into her spine. She gave a grunt as she tried to push herself up but the frigid cold was too much.

Guess he finally told her that she didn’t want him along. And was really pissed that she said no.

Six Sunday – The first of the new year!

Posted in Six Sentence Sunday with tags on January 1, 2012 by Nellie

Well this is the first 6 of the new year. And right now, I have a few drinks in me (but am safely at home). This is from the work that has the work title of Jane and the Fae.

He snorted. “And you were snagged by the music, so you would have been lost if I hadn’t been there.”

“Yeah, at least I didn’t get fresh with you.”

He snorted. “Are you sure you don’t feel like a prude. It was the best way to pull you out of the enthrallment.”

Hope all of you had a safe and happy New Year.
