Bad Impressions

Trill tromped around Jane in his heavy boots. She ignored him and stared at the cracks in the column of the building as it resisted to fall on them.

“I don’t get you, Jane. I’ve been pretty cordial when it comes to the Court lackeys. Some say pretty conservative. Why do you have to be such a bitch to me?”

His rotten breath brushed up against her ear and her nose wrinkled at the stench. A roll of her shoulders in a shrug as the fae tried to intimidate her. Operative being ‘try’. “You’re a pretty unremarkable guy.” She smirked.

Hump Day Challenge Flash – Week 28

Posted in #Humpdaychallenge, flash fiction with tags on December 28, 2011 by Nellie

Come on over to Tracey’s Travern for some Hump Day Flash! Contest is open until 8pm EST.

The words to be incorporated are:

Resolution
Tired
Illuminate
Regrets
And the super special pick word is…BOOZE!

A faint groan and the smell of copper and sulfur. He raised a hand to his face, rubbing at his face. Still tired, still worn. The bright, red Motel light that flickered on and off illuminated the wide form sitting in the chair.

“Are we having regrets now, Mr. Wilson?”

“Wha?” He pushed himself up. His hand brushed against the bottle of booze that had been laying on the bed next to him.

“Regrets, Mr. Wilson. Are you having them?” A metallic snkt.

Bennie thought about it before shaking his head. “My resolution, my choice.”

“Goodbye then, Mr. Wilson.”

Bang.
