Monday Mixer – Round and Round

There is a new flash challenge out there. Jeffrey Hollar’s Monday Mixer.

There is still time to get your entry in. Flash fiction is fun.

Round and Round

Jane wandered through the oubliette, rubbing a dirty hand across the back of her neck. Dealing with fae was the most pain in the ass thing she had to do. Especially Greek fae. They loved their labyrinths. They seemed to be really fond of them. If she had to fight a minotaur, she was going to have words with Cimon. He thought he was funny.

Jane came to a stop and looked at the two pathways that branched to either side of her. She pulled out the drachma and flipped the coin.

“Heads is right, tails is left.” It gleamed in the low light as it flipped over and landed in her palm. She turned left and walked down that pathway. It wasn’t long before she was hearing the discordant pipe music. A slow grin spread across her face. “Got you, you pain in the ass.”

Satyr was going down.

  1. I love the story and how you used the prompts – especially the flipping of the drachma! 😉

  2. Loved this! Just the right amount of humour and intrigue!
