ROW80 – Holy Cow I Am a Idjit Edition

Well, I totally missed the check in beginning of this year’s Row 80. Yes, yes I can be that absentminded. I would forget my head if it wasn’t connected to my shoulders.

So, this year, I signed up for #WIP500. You can sign up over at Cara Michaels. There is a nifty forums and everything. šŸ™‚ The goal is to write 500 words a day, which would equal 183,000 words. Which is two good size novels if that was what you were working on. Plus I need to get into the habit of writing daily ANYWAY, even just a little. (I need to set up a page for this.)

This month, I’m doing #Nightgale. This one is over at Glitterword and involves the them of Mortality vs. Immortality in 200 words or less, every Thursday. (Need to set up a page for this too.)

There is the week of Flash Fiction. Since this Row80 round goes to March, how about I complete three short stories. That will be my goal. To at least FINISH them. Getting a beta and polishing, maybe another story there. Which is good because there are two open calls that are due in April anyway so I figure why not.

Open Calls:

971 Menu – Due April 1st, short story of up to 4500 words, chance of a first place prize of $200.

Tapestry of Bronze – Poetry contest with the theme of Ares

Icarus themed open call – This is still in the work and the person is trying to gauge if there is interest first. All profits would go to Doctors Without Borders.

That’s it for now!

Pop over and see other Row80ers!

  1. Ryan King Says:

Bah, you’re no Idjit. Rock those short stories šŸ™‚

  2. I need to be happy sometimes with 500 words. My goal is 1,000 words 5 days a week, which is very doable for me, but sometimes if I feel like I can’t spare a whole hour, I don’t do it at all.

  3. The #nightgale word count is supposed to be a min of 200 words but if you dont have time for 200 it should be fine šŸ™‚
